The Royal Wedding in Thimpu, Bhutan

BE PATIENT.
This image of Bhutan’s King Jigme Wangchuk kissing his bride, Jetsun Pema, in public was taken with a lot of anticipation—and tons of patience. Public displays of affection in the conservative Bhutanese society, after all, are usually frowned upon. But then again, the young king has the final say and not even the strangest “uh-oh” look from an aide could stop him from kissing his young queen, which he allegedly met when she was only seven years old.

GET READY FOR ‘AWWW’ MOMENTS.
A great sense of timing is a must for these “intimate” moments, such as this shot of celebrity couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, considered showbiz “royalties” who had tied the knot in a private ceremony Anilao, Batangas. This shot was taken during the boat ride to Anilao, a perfect quiet time for the couple. After quickly squeezing the shutter, exit quietly and leave the couple be.

In Love With Hue
Canon 5DII
THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS.
“I see skies of blue, red roses…er, socks and soles too…” It is, indeed, a wonderful world for any photographer who is rewarded by the many interesting details, such as the pops of red from the bride and groom’s outfits, and the human interest angle provided by this banjo player in New York’s Central Park. Be sure to take these kinds of shots quickly; every moment counts.
The Mastermind: Pat Dy
Pat Dy specializes in being a destination wedding photographer but also shoots for fashion magazines. Such mix manifests in his forte of taking fashion editorial-like images. He is a Canon digital brand ambassador and Sandisk Memory cards ambassador.

Seat of Faith
Nikon D3 with 24 mm
IT’S ALL ABOUT TRUST.
This photo took a lot of guts. Tip no. 1: Never, ever put your subjects in harm’s way. Before anything else, test it out yourself. If you can do it, so can they. Now, taking their vows on this ledge would certainly give the “‘til death do us part” promise a whole new meaning.
The Mastermind: Paul Vincent
Paul Vincent proves that it’s never too late to be a professional photographer. He was formerly an operations manager in a large security firm and has a background in advertising. He has teamed up with his wife and set up Paul Vincent Photography.

HAVE FUN.
Lying down on a bed of roses? Bo-ring. This couple was willing to get down on the ground and contort their bodies to get that “running” pose. The result? A funky and hip vintage shot in Manila’s historic walled city of Intramuros, with its unique tiles giving the image lots of class. No professional stylist was hired here, the clothes and props all came from the couple.
The Mastermind: Noel Salazar
Part of the Philippine-based Imagine Nation Photography group, Noel Salazar distinguishes himself as a quirky and storytelling photographer. He has been in the wedding industry since 2008 but also dabbles in shooting fashion, products and food.
